Actually, I should say that you are right... Yandex Search is the most popular in Russia. I can't say the exact statistics but over 50%- 65% of searches are made by Yandex Search. They say that every day they have more then 40 000 000 clicks on their search button.
I don't know any kind of submission of sitemap or anything like that... but i can find it out if you want me to...

Then again russian and english languages aren't the same! But what the heck, google expands out to china and other foreign countries so who knows!
